pavillion dv2000 - Pavillion dv2000

I bought a HP Pavillion dv2000 laptop from compUSA 2 1/2 years ago and it was the worst experience EVER! I struggled with the laptop for 2 years I disabled every extra feature on vista (windows defender, index server etc...)and have to use a window fan pointed at the laptop 24/7 so it does not overheat and shut down.

I called microsoft, tried to contact HP and always us got a big fat nothing from them even though i bought the extended service warranty.

finally I got rid of windows vista and installed windows 7, thinking that maybe the reason it overheated so muc was that vista is such a processor intensive OS.

After I finished installing Windows 7, i discovered 2 really annoying facts:

hp doesnt support windows 7 for my display adapter.

There is a known defect in the hardware of my Pavillion dv2000 that causes the machine to overheat and a few other symptoms.
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=1842189&docname=c01087277#c01087277_identify

I finally had a number to call : 1 866 671 7362.

I called the number and they basically told me a bunch of excuses and I was out of luck because I was beyond the 24 month warranty.

so I'm left with a defective machine that I paid $1500.00 for.

I got a call from them saying they wanted to resolve my problem. they put me on hold and then some fast talking guy tried to sell me a "discounted pricing" support package.

I explained to him that I wasn't in the business of paying for them to fix a problem that they created. I also sent this e-mail to HP's board. I'm sure they will have a good laugh about it...

How dare you call me, tell me you want to resolve my problem, put me on hold and then give me a song and dance about how I can get the discount pricing for you to fix the problem with my computer that you created!

just spit in my face next time.

I will never buy HP products ever again. In my personal, or in my business life.

I find it very insulting for you to sell me a defective product, make me jump through all kinds of hoops to get to someone who can "do something about it" and then try to sell me the solution to the problem.

whatever! I don't need HP, there are plenty of other much better products in the market.

I know when I've been ripped off. Trust me, it will never happen again to me or any of my friends who ask my advice or anyone who reads my online posts.

I don't even know why i am bothering writing this. the only way you could get me to use an HP is to give me a machine to replace the sorry excuse or one that I bought.

But we both know that hell would freeze over before anyone could pry open HP's greedy money grubbing customer screwing corporate devil fingers.
