Hewlet Packard Nightmare

My daughter and I purdhased 2 HP laptop computers through QVC. It was a great deal that turned into a nightmare. Within the past 13 months her unit has been returned 3 times for a repair and then they sent a replacement that was worse than her original. MIRACLE...she nagged until she received a refund.That took 6 months. Mine has gone back for repairs 3 times and still has the same things wrong with it since the first time it went in. They provide a "repair list sheet" to fill out but due to lack of room you add a docuement and they disregard your report of what is wrong and do what they want with it; thus it really is never repaired. Between mine and my daughters DEFECTIVE laptops she has spent numberous hours sending emails and making phone calls EVEN UP TO THE EXECUTIVE/PRESIDENT and we still do not have any satisfaction!!! THE BATTLE STILL CONTINUES!!!!

I think in most states 3 repairs on the same thing officially makes it a lemon (if the repairs have all been for the same issue/part). If that's the case in yours, that means that they are legally obligated replace it with another one. The replacement has to be the equivalent to what you currently have or better in the event that what you currently have is no longer available; e.g. they can't give you a slower processor, a smaller screen, etc.

Instead of continuing to call the company, contact the people the company have to answer to. In most states that's the consumer division of the AG's office or the FTC.
